Introduction
Since I moved from Canada to Sweden five years ago, I have become increasingly drawn to the enchanting world of birds while spending time in nature. In my childhood, I often interacted with the birds in our environment. My father knew that whenever he went on trips to agricultural farms, he would bring back a bag of corn kernels so we could feed the pigeons and sparrows that frequently visited our balcony during the winter.
This dedication to birds has stayed with me. While living in Canada, I made it a habit to feed the birds and squirrels on my balcony. When I moved to Sweden, this practice didn’t fade; it just took me some time to find the right way to engage with the birds. It finally became possible when I relocated from the city to Nacka in 2021, a suburban municipality with an abundance of forests and nature reserves that provide an ideal habitat for various bird species.
I now spend most of my free time walking in the woods and observing the birds. Initially, they can be a bit timid, but once they realize they are not in danger, they become quite sociable, and sometimes even know how to pose. I hope this page, featuring photos of birds, captures your attention because, for me, birds are a true joy and a delight to behold.
As this is the beginning of my public journey with my camera, I will start with a few images of birds in my neighborhood. If you like birds, I am positive you will enjoy this page.
- Eurosian wren was spotted on the fence in the park in Nacka, Stockholm. They produce a distinct sound, making them easy to identify from a distance.

2. Two Eurasian blackbirds are pictured above. On the left, you can see a male blackbird photographed in January 2025 in a nearby forest. The blackbird on the right was captured this spring in an urban park. He has a lovely song, making it a pleasure to listen to him.
Blackbirds often communicate over long distances, reaching several hundred meters in the forest, where they share messages. Although I haven’t yet learned to understand bird calls, I am curious about the topics they discuss.
In Stockholm and its surrounding areas, blackbirds are quite common. The males have a shiny black plumage that I find beautiful.

3. Eurasian blue tit observing surroundings on a pine branch in Saltsjöbaden. Blue tits can be challenging to photograph because they are always moving and playful. They sing joyfully, and if they do pose, it likely means they are not searching for food and feel at ease.

4. Swans in the bay near Stockholm in May 2025

5. A white wagtail is perched on the lawn in a park in Södermalm on a sunny spring afternoon. A white wagtail is very friendly and, from my experience, they recognize people. Sometimes, if you feed them, they can follow you and be your companion while you walk through the park or forest.

6. A European robin sings in the forest on an early spring morning, brightening the day for unseen visitors in the area. Nacka, April 2025.

7. A swan with a cygnet and a young duck in the background, photographed on a beach near Nyckelvicken, August 2025.

8. A young woodpecker perched on a pine tree in the forest after a summer morning rain.

9. A family of Eurasian coots can be found on the shores of Lake Kocktorps, consisting of a mother, a father, and their three young chicks. In the three pictures above, the chicks are already three months old. They were fortunate to survive this spring, as herons and seagulls threatened their eggs. Despite this, they remain friendly and lively.

10. The fieldfare is sitting on a tree branch in May 2025, Tollare, Nacka.

11. Meet our delightful and sociable duck, bursting with energy and personality! At just four to five months old, this vibrant young bird is sure to capture your heart and bring joy to your day!

12. The Eurasian blue tit takes off from the apple tree, showcasing its beautiful wingspan.

13. My new friend is definitely not Donald Duck, but this duck is very friendly , curious, and calm.

14. In the forest of Nacka, Stockholm, a friendly Eurasian nuthatch is observing my movements and camera from a proper distance.

15. A gray heron observes the surroundings on the beach in the Nyckelvikens nature reserve.
